TikTok Japan Executive Meeting
Client Brief
ByteDance engaged Congress Singapore to deliver an integrated audiovisual solution for a high-level, five-day internal meeting series at the TikTok Japan office located in Shibuya Hikarie, Tokyo. The client required a discreet boardroom-style setup that delivered crystal-clear audio and allowed for multilingual discussion—without overwhelming the sleek, modern workspace with excessive hardware.

Our Solution
Congress Singapore installed a full Simultaneous Interpretation (SI) system and Bosch DCN Next Generation digital conference microphones arranged in a clean horseshoe layout. These mic units included a lesser used but powerful feature: built-in channel selectors, which became the centrepiece of our lean, efficient solution.
Instead of deploying a traditional infrared (IR) or FM interpretation system—often involving dozens of receivers, radiators, transmitters, and layers of configuration—Congress Singapore activated interpretation channels directly through the Bosch microphone units. Participants simply listened to translated content via the mic stations in front of them.
We also installed floor-mounted displays along the centre of the room for agenda content and speaker identification and deployed a compact PA system to support in-room and remote audio. Hybrid connectivity was achieved via integration with Lark, an online conferencing platform like Zoom, enabling remote participants to join seamlessly.

Challenges and Solutions
Restrictive venue access
Access to Shibuya Hikarie was tightly controlled. Each delivery or load-in required pre-registration and was limited to strict 10-minute time slots. This demanded meticulous logistical planning and multiple forms of documentation. Congress Singapore overcame these hurdles through advanced coordination and precision scheduling.
Last-minute additions
During setup the day before the event, the client requested additional display screens. Congress swiftly responded—delivering and installing the required TVs on the same day without disrupting the overall setup timeline.
Going lean with interpretation
This event gave Congress Singapore a rare opportunity to rethink how interpretation is delivered. By using the channel selector feature on the Bosch microphones, Congress Singapore eliminated the need for external receivers. This resulted in a cleaner table setup, lighter tech footprint, and faster deployment and teardown. It was a solution that was not only technically sound—but aesthetically elegant and operationally satisfying.

The Outcome
The five-day event ran flawlessly, supporting confidential, high-stakes discussion with pristine audio quality and integrated multilingual support. The conference microphones doubled as interpreter output channels—proving that high-performance setups don’t need to be high-complexity.
The client was pleased with the professionalism, speed, and clarity of delivery, as this project also served as a refreshing reminder that simplicity, when smartly applied, can outperform traditional complexity.
“This wasn’t just about saving time or gear—it was about reimagining what’s possible with what’s already in our hands.”
