Event Overview
The 76th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Western Pacific took place on Denarau Island, Fiji, from 20th to 24th October 2025. The event brought together WHO leaders, government ministers, and health officials from 37 member states, along with UN and partner representatives.
The event is considered the most important annual gathering for health leaders in the Western Pacific Region, addressing urgent health priorities and strategies that impact over a quarter of the world’s population.
Congress Australia was engaged to deliver a multilingual plenary environment that enabled participation from all delegates onsite and online. The event required professional conference technology, simultaneous interpretation, and integrated video production, making it one of Congress Australia’s most technically advanced international projects of 2025.

Our Solution
To meet the demands of a high-profile international meeting, Congress Australia delivered a fully integrated, advanced multilingual interpretation and conferencing solution. Our team implemented microphone-driven camera switching, automated lower thirds, queue management, and dynamic nameplate control.
The high-level dialogue and collaboration were supported by:

-
69x Bosch Dicentis microphones – providing clear, high-quality audio for every participant, accompanied by digital nameplates for easy identification.
-
6x PTZ cameras with custom MVI software – automated to track active speakers, deliver live lower thirds, and coordinate with dynamic nameplates and queue management.
-
2x Audipack interpreter booths – fully soundproofed to ISO standards, supporting French and Mandarin interpreters.
-
Dante-based audio network and encoder – handling floor audio and three interpretation channels for local distribution, live streaming, and multichannel recording.
-
6x interpreter consoles –used by interpreters to deliver translation to the correct language channels and support relay interpreting, ensuring clear, real-time multilingual audio for delegates.
-
200x Bosch digital IR headsets – delivering high-quality, uninterrupted interpretation to delegates via an infrared system.
Our team worked in collaboration with AV partner Microhire and WHO’s onsite technical teams. Local technicians were employed to support the physical setup and technical installations under Congress supervision. Programming and live integration continued until the day before the event to ensure a smooth conferencing experience.
Congress Australia’s innovative integration of the Bosch Dicentis network with MVI software enabled seamless, real-time communication, ensuring delegates could see and hear speakers clearly while following discussions in their own language.

Key Challenges & How They Were Addressed

Delivering a high-level WHO meeting required precise coordination, technical innovation, and disciplined teamwork. Congress Australia overcame challenges that leveraged our team’s adaptability to ensure the success of the event.
Coordinating Rehearsals and System Setup
The event’s advanced technical setup required the team to adapt quickly to a tight schedule, with rehearsals beginning before system programming was complete. Nevertheless, the team conducted programming, live testing, and rehearsal activities simultaneously to ensure a seamless experience for all stakeholders. Throughout the event, the onsite team made real-time adjustments to the technical setup, coordinating Congress Australia and Microhire equipment to keep delivery smooth and uninterrupted.
Handling Scope Increases
Given the large-scale nature of the event, final preparations saw the scope expand with the addition of nine microphones, an extra PTZ camera, and ongoing metadata updates. The team’s proactive planning enabled timely integration of these additions into the existing system, adjusting configurations and rerouting without impacting the event schedule or performance.
By combining technical expertise with adaptive problem-solving, the team completed installation and integration of the equipment the day before the event began. Creative use of hardware enabled live adjustments, ensuring seamless operation of the interpretation and conferencing system despite the challenging schedule and evolving requirements.
