Supporting a High-Profile International Summit

The Asian Development Bank’s Annual Meeting is an event that brings together heads of state, finance ministers, development partners, and global stakeholders to discuss strategy, economic growth, and regional cooperation across Asia and the Pacific. In 2019, the summit was hosted across multiple venues in Fiji, including Denarau Island Convention Centre (Westin & Sheraton Resorts) and the InterContinental Resort at Natadola Bay, making it one of the largest events ever held in the country.

Congress Australia was the interpretation, conference microphone and PTZ Camera partner. Working alongside Encore and Microhire, the team on the ground contributed to a successful conference for the end client. The 5-day event attracted over 3000 delegates from overseas.

Overcoming Multi-Venue & Logistical Complexity

Complex Multi-Venue Logistics

Managing three separate venues with concurrent sessions presented logistical challenges, from equipment freight across countries to room resets between sessions. To ensure a seamless process, deployment teams coordinated closely with venue staff. This allowed us to optimise room layouts, quickly install and reassign microphones, and streamline resets without interrupting delegate flow.

New Technology Integration

At the client's request, the new Panasonic cameras were manually controlled by Congress Australia's technicians to capture the best shots for the live broadcast. Usually, these cameras are pre-programmed and automatically set. A joystick was used to manually transition the camera from one speaker to the next in the set list. The Congress technician quickly adapted to this last-minute request due to their high-level training and knowledge of the system.

A Seamless Experience for 3,000+ Global Delegates

Congress Australia worked tirelessly to deliver a perfect solution to the ADB. The event’s success can be attributed to Congress's event technology and our collaboration with Microhire and Encore.
