Inside the World's Leading Aviation Conference
The IATA AGM is the world’s largest gathering of airline leaders, bringing together over 1,000 global executives to discuss critical industry challenges and opportunities. Held at ICC Sydney, hosted by Qantas, and chaired by Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, the 74th IATA AGM required a reliable, large-scale conference audio system to support high-level discussions over multiple days.

Delivering Interpretation Equipment for a Global Aviation Audience
Congress Australia delivered a fully integrated conference microphone and interpretation system designed for scale, control, and reliability. Equipment included:
150x Integrus Receivers and Bosch headsets for seamless audio
160x CCS 1000 Wired Conference Microphones deployed across the ballroom
1x Interpreter Booth for Mandarin translation for the 50 Chinese delegates in attendance
Infrared radiators mounted on overhead trusses to ensure full-room signal coverage for Mandarin-speaking delegates seated throughout the venue
Congress Australia used Bosch software controls and Synoptics with the conference microphones to create a seat map for the event. This provided Congress technicians with an overview of the microphones, enabling them to monitor the equipment throughout the event and remotely switch off any microphone left on once the delegate had finished speaking.

Delivering communication for the IATA AGM required careful coordination across a large-scale, high-profile environment.
Cable Management:
With more than 1,300 metres of cabling required, maintaining a discreet and professional finish was critical. Congress technicians ensured that the cabling for the head table was concealed by running the cables under the stage and tidying each cable after every session. Four technicians were on-site at all times to monitor the equipment to ensure the event was a complete success.

The conference microphone system ensured reliable audio throughout the venue, while simultaneous interpretation enabled Mandarin-speaking delegates to engage fully. Despite the scale and complexity, the system operated smoothly with no disruptions, supporting high-level discussions at a critical global aviation event.
