RSI for Hawaiian Global Leadership Conference
Client Brief
Congress Australia was commissioned to deliver Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) for a large-scale multinational leadership summit hosted at the Hawaii Convention Centre in Honolulu. The summit featured a hybrid format, with in-person sessions alongside remote participants and interpreters spread across multiple time zones. The client required seamless, real-time multilingual support—without compromising the delegate experience or overcomplicating the AV infrastructure.
Our Solution
Congress Australia deployed the Congress Remote Interpretation Platform to manage interpretation in English and Japanese across five concurrent meeting streams. The setup included a mix of on-site technical coordination and cloud-based interpretation workflows:
-
Remote interpreters connected via Congress Australia’s secure RSI platform.
-
Audio routing was fully managed by Congress Australia’s senior SI technician deployed in Honolulu.
-
The system integrated directly with the client’s preferred video conferencing platforms, including Lark and Zoom, ensuring full hybrid participation.
Where necessary, Congress Australia utilised Interprefy to extend RSI access into additional breakout spaces—maintaining flexibility without adding friction to the overall system.

Challenges and Solutions
Global distribution and technical complexity
Delivering simultaneous interpretation across five live streams—with remote interpreters and hybrid participants, demanded tight coordination. Our solution centralised control with a senior SI technician onsite, overseeing all signal routing, quality control, and last-minute adjustments with the client’s AV team.
Platform interoperability
Our RSI infrastructure was built for compatibility. The Congress RSI platform provided clean handoff points for audio feeds, enabling real-time sync across physical and virtual rooms while eliminating latency issues common in multi-platform events.
Reliable Remote Deliver
Despite interpreters being thousands of kilometres apart, our system ensured consistent delivery of high-quality audio, monitored live by our support team via cloud-based diagnostics. This guaranteed uninterrupted interpretation even across shifting schedules and regional variations in bandwidth.

The Outcome
Throughout the summit, Congress Australia provided uninterrupted multilingual interpretation—spanning keynote presentations, panel discussions, and workshops.
More than just a technical win, this event demonstrated the scalability and adaptability of Congress Australia’s RSI infrastructure. The hybrid delivery model supported participants across time zones without sacrificing clarity or coordination.
The success of this event reinforces how remote interpretation, when paired with senior technical oversight and trusted tools, can exceed the expectations of even the most demanding global conferences.
“With five concurrent channels, multiple interpreter teams, and a globally distributed audience, this was RSI at its most complex—and most rewarding."
