Congress Australia provided professional simultaneous interpretation systems and conference technology during Tô Lâm’s first official visit to Australia as Vietnam’s General Secretary and President.
The four-day visit from the 9th – 12th August 2026 brought Tô Lâm and a high-level Vietnamese delegation to Sydney and Canberra as Australia and Vietnam continued to deepen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Across three days of the official program, the Congress Australia team supported nine meetings and engagements involving Australian and Vietnamese government representatives, officials, business and industry leaders, researchers and media. Events were held across Parliament House Canberra, Hyatt Hotel Canberra, UTS Sydney and InterContinental Sydney, ranging from bilateral and ministerial meetings to industry events and official joint media statements.
The high-level program required reliable multilingual communication across meetings involving government, industry, research and media.

Congress Australia worked with a broad range of clients and stakeholders, including the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Defence, VASEA, Australian and Vietnamese government delegations, and media representatives.
Through coordinated technical delivery across multiple venues and secure government environments, Congress Australia provided the specialist technology and on-site expertise required to support clear, reliable multilingual communication throughout the program.
Coordinating Multiple Events Across Sydney and Canberra
The multi-event program required careful coordination across Sydney and Canberra. Simultaneous interpretation systems were shared across venues and installed early to allow adequate time for setup, testing, and coordination with event and venue AV teams.
Equipment was installed a day early at both venues in Sydney. At UTS, the system was tested with the venue team and demonstrated to the client, while the InterContinental installation was coordinated alongside the venue’s AV team.
In Canberra, the program continued across Hyatt Hotel Canberra and Parliament House. Congress Australia’s familiarity with these venues helped the team manage secure access requirements and tight turnaround times. Systems were configured, tested and, where required, relocated between engagements as schedules changed. Technicians coordinated closely with government staff, security, interpreters, venue teams, and in-house broadcast and AV personnel to keep each system ready for operation.

Spotlighting Key Events During Tô Lâm’s Official Visit
Vietnam Australia Tech-Connect Forum
Vietnam Australia Tech-Connect Forum, held at UTS, brought together approximately 500 scientific, research, and industry representatives from Australia and Vietnam, including General Secretary and President Tô Lâm.
Congress Australia provided simultaneous interpretation alongside machine-generated captioning. An NG AME interface was used to extract the English floor-filled interpretation channel and send it to Interprefy for captioning, integrating professional interpretation and live captions within the event workflow.
The solution supported multilingual communication across the summit’s keynote presentations and industry panels.

Prime Ministerial Meetings & Joint Media Statements
At Parliament House in Canberra, Congress Australia provided simultaneous interpretation for a Prime Minister’s Office bilateral meeting, Cabinet Room meeting and joint media statements involving General Secretary and President Tô Lâm.
The solution included Bosch DICENTIS conference microphones, interpreter facilities, infrared language distribution, delegate receivers and discreet earpieces for principals, as well as dedicated language feeds and multichannel recordings for the media.

Across Hyatt Hotel Canberra and Parliament House, Congress Australia provided simultaneous interpretation systems to support bilateral discussions between Australian and Vietnamese government representatives.
The solution included interpreter facilities, Bosch DICENTIS conference microphones, and infrared receivers and headsets, providing delegates with clear access to English and Vietnamese interpretation.
Changing schedules required equipment to be relocated between venues and tested before each session. Through careful logistics planning, close communication with the client, and additional technical support, both sessions were delivered successfully with reliable interpretation and smooth transitions between venues.

The team adapted to changing schedules, secure access requirements, short turnaround times, and last-minute additions while maintaining reliable multilingual communication across each engagement. Equipment and technicians were coordinated between venues, with systems configured to suit everything from intimate bilateral meetings and official media statements to a 500-person forum.
