Delivering a Large-Scale Technology Conference at ICC Sydney
Salesforce hosted its World Tour Sydney event at ICC Sydney, bringing together more than 2,000 delegates to explore the latest innovations in CRM technology and digital transformation. The conference featured keynote presentations, breakout sessions and an active exhibition floor showcasing partner solutions and product demonstrations.
To maximise delegate engagement and ensure wider access to the plenary sessions, the organisers incorporated silent breakout theatres within the exhibition space. Congress Australia was engaged to deliver a silent conference headphone system that allows attendees to listen to live presentations while moving freely throughout the exhibition hall.

Silent Breakout Theatres for Reliable Conference Viewing
Congress Australia designed and deployed six silent breakout theatres across two levels of the exhibition floor, creating additional viewing spaces for the conference keynote sessions. Using wireless conference headphones connected to the main plenary audio feed, delegates could clearly hear presentations without the need for loudspeaker systems in the exhibition hall.
This silent conference setup allowed participants to:

Move freely between exhibition stands and presentation spaces
Enjoy clear audio without interference from exhibition noise

The exhibition floor featured sponsor booths, networking areas and live demonstrations. Maintaining clear audio in such a dynamic space required a wireless headphone-based conference audio solution that could isolate each delegate's listening experience.
Managing 2,000+ Headphones
Managing over 2,000 silent conference headphones across multiple theatres created a risk of equipment loss in the busy exhibition environment. To address this, Congress technicians securely cable-tied each receiver to the theatre seating. This simple solution ensured all equipment remained in place and allowed every silent theatre to operate smoothly throughout the conference.
A Successful Silent Conference Experience for 2,000+ Delegates
The silent conference solution enabled Salesforce to extend keynote presentations throughout the exhibition space while maintaining a clean and controlled audio environment. All six silent theatres operated successfully throughout the event, with several reaching full capacity during popular sessions. Delegates were able to follow presentations clearly while continuing to engage with the exhibition and networking areas.
The project demonstrated how silent conference technology can enhance large-scale corporate events, technology conferences and exhibitions, creating flexible breakout environments without the need for additional physical rooms.
