Supporting a Major Technology Conference at MCEC Melbourne
XeroCon 2017 brought together thousands of accountants, bookkeepers and technology partners from across Australia to explore the latest developments in cloud accounting and financial technology. Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the two-day conference featured keynote sessions, partner presentations and multiple breakout experiences designed to showcase new products and industry innovations.

Multi-Channel Silent Breakout Theatres for Concurrent Sessions
Congress Australia delivered a multi-channel silent conference solution that enabled four concurrent presentations to run in the same space without audio interference. Delegates used wireless headphones to select and listen to their preferred session while seated in shared theatre areas.

Managing Equipment at Scale for 4,000 Delegates
With thousands of delegates using wireless headphones throughout the conference, equipment management was critical. Congress technicians secured each receiver to the theatre seating to prevent headphone losses while ensuring the system remained accessible and easy for delegates to use.
A Seamless Silent Conference Experience
The silent conference setup enabled Xero to deliver a highly engaging format in which multiple sessions could run simultaneously without audio interference.
More than 4,000 delegates participated across the silent theatres, each listening to different presentations while seated in the same space. The system operated smoothly across the two-day event, demonstrating how silent conference technology can transform large technology conferences and exhibition environments into flexible, multi-session learning spaces.
